I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o’er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they
Out did the sparkling waves in glee:

A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed-and gazed-but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

Yogamaya: Poet, Teacher, Insurgent
“Yogmaya had a two-pronged agenda, not just one,” explained Manamaya.
“Her first target was the cultural and religious oppression of the time. Her second object was our ruler, the Prime Minister, who along with his generals allowed corruption and inequality to prevail. Our master, Shakti Yogmaya, showed us how these two evils are intertwined, and she feared neither.”

Yogamaya launched a brilliant and a daring political campaign from her base in the hills of East Nepal. It took place during the 1930s, and ended in 1940 with her death, along with sixty- eight of her followers who one by one followed her into the thundering current of the Arun River. After leading a campaign for reform and justice, Yogmaya finally confronted the ruler with an ultimatum: “If you do not grant us justice, we will die,” she declared. Juddha Shamsher responded by sending his army to round up the protesters.

The tragedy that resulted remains a stain on the government. The Nepalese authorities covered up the episode and banned all mention of her. Her campaign was thoroughly expunged from the nation’s historical record and almost lost to its political consciousness. But the powerful verses composed by Yogmaya, the hazurbani, survived. And there lies the story.

It is pity and shameful to state that in caring and obeying parents is now in declining state. As many of youths are going to the western way in the name of modernizing, more and more elderly people are being neglected. Many children feel that managing some money for their parents' expense is enough to rid them of guilt. But a person who neglects his/her parents will be haunted by guilt forever and never live in peace and harmony. We must also remember one thing that our children are watching how we are dealing with our parents and this is the way they will learn to treat their parents shabbily. We can expect the same from them.

It is essential to reciprocate the love our parents gave us. They sacrificed their comforts for ours. They stayed awaken through the nights so that we could sleep. They lived a life of difficulty so that we could fulfill our wants. In return, we cannot give them a little happiness during their twilight years, it will be the most shameful sin we commit. A person who takes care of his/her parent's blessings, looking after his/her parents will earn blessing that will ensure joy and happiness in the lives.

Dear Paul,
Some time ago, I asked you about the best way to travel Edinburgh overnight and you advised me to go by coach, "It's cheap and convenient', you said "and very comfortable." Well, I took your advice. Now let me tell you what happened!

We left on time (and with plenty of loud music) and stopped for supper at a café at about 9:30. It wasn't the sort of place I eating in and it was also very crowded, so I decided to buy some chocolate. I had some fruit with me too, so at least, I didn't go hungry.

We set off again at 10:15. The flights went off (and the awful music too, thank goodness) and I settled down to get some sleep.

However, the people just behind me kept on talking and every now and then they burst out laughing at some joke. I asked them to be quiet, but they didn't take any notice at all. However, eventually I feel asleep- but then the people behind me woke me up! "You're snoring," they said, "and keeping us awake!" After that I hardly slept at all.

The rest of the journey was like a bad dream. Then, at about 5:30 about 40 miles south of Edinburgh, the couch broke down. The driver went off to telephone for help, but when a rescue van finally arrived; they couldn't get the coach to start. At the end, they had to send for another one and we all had to change coaches-in-the rain! By the time I was very hungry and I was longing for a nice hot drink, I got on-when we finally reached Edinburgh at nine o'clock! By then I was so exhausted I went straight to bed and stayed there for the rest of the day- the first day of my holiday!

Just you can imagine, I don 't intend to travel by coach again overnight. Of course, I'm not blaming you for all this- but thanks for the advice!
Yours truly
Ron
